Turn-key Approach to Contaminated Equipment Repair and Refurbishment
Licensed by the State of Virginia, EMC performs decontamination activities and all aspects of radiological safety to the highest standards. Our custom-built Nuclear Services Building (NSB) prioritizes safety and strictly adheres to all safety and environmental regulations. Featuring climate control, advanced HEPA filtration, negative pressure HVAC systems, and sealed floors with bermed perimeters to contain any loose contamination. The facility operates under the management of a full-time Radiological Safety Officer (RSO) and health physics (HP) professionals who oversee a complete set of radiological control procedures, including ALARA for controlled personnel dose and the continuation of operations.
EMC’s entire Chesapeake, VA, campus is licensed to handle radiological materials, allowing flexibility in completing various tasks. Essential repairs such as welding, machining, painting, and inspections can be conducted outside our Nuclear Services Building to raise our capacity to disassemble, decontaminate, and reassemble components across facilities.
