Motor
Repair
The repair of electric motors has been one of the
core businesses for EMC since our inception. EMC rebuilds about
300 motors/month, both AC and DC, ranging from fractional hp
to large horizontal and vertical motors in excess of 10,000
hp.
We take great pride in our expert personnel, state of the art
facilities and equipment. We continually Strive for Excellence
in providing the highest Quality finished product available.
Our motor rebuild services include:
Rewinding
up though 13,200VAC, using epoxy vacuum pressure impregnation
(VPI) on all form wound motors through 7KV and B-stage hot
pressed coils above 7KV
A full machine shop capable of handling the majority of our
machining needs, such as shaft repair/replacement, bearing housing repairs, complete internal horizontal and vertical alignment, etc.
Dynamic
balancing of rotating components, typically to ISO 1940 standards
G2.5
and 1.0
Replacement of stator laminations with low loss, laser cut laminations.
Rebuilding of squirrel cage rotors, including rotor bar replacement,
lamination replacement and in some cases, complete new rotor manufacturing.
Upgrading of existing motors, such as rewinding for increased hp or changing bearing design/configuration for optimum vibration and reliability.
Full voltage no load testing of all motors up through 12,000 hp @ 13.2KV.
IEEE 429/Nema MG-1 Water Submergence test approved on VPI Coils
Our Dynamometer
capabilities are being increased to offer full load testing,
both horizontal and vertical, up to 2000hp (at
1800 rpm)
We take the time to truly evaluate the condition of
your motor, both electrically and mechanically. From this,
we can provide
you with a detailed analysis of your equipment in order for
you to make an informed decision on the necessary repairs.
After we have rebuilt your motor, our goal is that it performs
better than it did when it was new.
